Frequently asked questions
Yes, all of our products are guaranteed to be weed free, or your money back. A 3 inch layer of any of our products is enough to suppress existing weeds, and we guarantee our product won't introduce any new ones.
We produce our own compost on an advanced turned-aerated composting system (TAP). We track temperature, moisture and oxygen levels throughout the entire production process. We are required to maintain a minimum temperature of 55 degrees C for 15 days, in addition to turning the material 5 times during this 'hot' phase. This heat treatment kills weeds, seeds and pathogens, while providing an ideal environment for the thermophilic microbes that convert nutrients into a plant-available form.
Our soil developer is a compost comprised of cattle manure and recycled garden waste. The garden waste is unprocessed plant materials only; no dimensional lumbers, painted or treated woods, plastics, soils or other contaminants. These materials are blended to create a stable, nutrient-rich soil amendment.

Our All Natural Soil developer is best used as an amendment as it is rich in nutrients and organic matter. We suggest top dressing with a minimum of 3” to improve soil health rather than planting directly into it alone. Applying our products at a 3”+ depth means we guarantee it to be weed free for 30 days, or your money back!
Soil developer can be applied in spring before planting, during the growing season to improve soil, or in fall to prepare beds for the next year. Applying in early spring has the added benefit of suppressing existing weeds before your garden fills out through the growing season.
This depends on the size of your garden and the condition of your soil. As a general rule, 1 cubic yard covers about 100 square feet at a 3-inch depth. See our calculator here.
